Provost Academy Board

Jeff Popiel, Board President

Jeffrey Popiel is President Geotech Environmental Equipment, a Denver-based manufacturer of the most comprehensive line of quality environmental equipment, with customers worldwide. His career with the company has long focused on managing the research and development of new technology in the areas of groundwater sampling, analysis and remediation.

His knowledge and understanding of a rapidly changing global marketplace, and the educational requirements current and future generations of young people in Colorado will need to complete, encouraged his involvement in Provost Academy Colorado as President of the Board.

In addition to his operational, financial and strategic planning responsibilities at Geotech, Jeff has been an active leader with AIESEC, the world's largest student-run organization that enables young people to explore and develop their leadership potential for them to have a positive impact in society.

A parent with children in private school, and resides in Jefferson County, Jeff is a graduate of the University of Colorado - Boulder.

Kate Greeley, Secretary

Kate Greeley, of Denver, serves as a member of the Board for Provost Academy Colorado. As a life-long educator, she has personally witnessed the strides students make in their academic success when their education matches their individual learning style – particularly at the high school level. 

As Assessment Instructional Specialist for the Denver Public Schools, Kate supports elementary principals with all Colorado state standardized assessments of student performance, and provides professional development training for teachers. In 2005, Kate was named “Mile High Teacher of the Year” for her work as Lead Teacher at the Wyatt-Edison Charter School in Denver.

Kate received her BA from Drake University; her MA from the University of Colorado -Denver; and did additional graduate coursework in Educational Administration at the University of Hawaii.

Ernie Flink, Board Member

Ernie Flink, of Denver, serves as a member of the Board for Provost Academy. Blending a career in teaching with the design and implementation of technology systems for use in education, Ernie possesses a vast expertise that benefits Provost Academy and its students. Initially as a social studies teacher in the Douglas County Public Schools, Ernie went on to design the district's student information system and trained staff to operate it. After nearly 20 years with Douglas County, Ernie utilized his skills in the computer software industry, where he continued to design state-of-the-art technology systems for education institutions throughout the United States.

Ernie received his BA from Washington State University, and his MA and EdD from the University of Northern Colorado.

Kevin Keelan, Board Member

 

Kevin Keelan, of Arvada, serves as a member of the Board for Provost Academy Colorado.  Kevin started his career as a business and marketing teacher with Denver Public Schools where he received Colorado Vocational Association’s CVA Gold Award in recognition for his leadership for school-to-career programs.

The majority of his career has been spent providing sales, marketing and business development leadership within IT and high tech companies.  Kevin is currently an Account Executive with Hosting.com

Kevin received his BBA in Marketing from the University of Colorado and his MA in Instructional Design from Colorado State University.
